of in picture one (first link) the teleporter walls are red right? In picture 2(link 2) there the way they should be... so when im far back it looks the old way, but when im up close its the skinned way why? same thing goes for pic 3/4.. do you understand now?

its a different tele your looking at in each pic isnt it?

theres 2 skin that make up thoes teles i think. either that or you have a overlapping shader issue. this is usually caused when shader swaps are done. did you do any shader swaps?

also..
learn this..

I have a more simple one on my site here, but the downside is you get a smaller image.

no i dont care if its tiled or not... listen for some reason when i skin and inject into hmt, what ever i skin goes all screwy dewy and messes up so when im not close to that bitmap which i edited, it turns black/the original color. so when i get closer it gets lighter, and lighter untill im close enough to see the texture which i injected into hmt this is still going on so. ii have 1 more idea.

Well instead of quiting you could choose to "Generate MIP Maps"

Just like there are more detailed and less detailed models, there are more/less detailed skins. When you generate MIP maps it makes all of the different "lil skins" in the "big skin" the one you made.

Please correct me if thats an innacurate description of MIP maps, but I know that doing that will definatly fix your problem.

When you save look for the option to generate MIP maps, and if photoshop is too pricey and you can't get it "from a friend", at least get Paint.net. I find it 10x better.

OK. Hers my problem.. when im far away from something, say a wall texture, like in the pic.. Its completely black in that middle area...BUT when i get closer it changes to what i needs to be.. I dont no why this is happening. i dont ave photoshop, i use gimp, and i dont think MIP maps are he problem, because this just started happening.. i dont no what to say this is just really annoying, And i cant finish a mod i was working on with some people, (i was the skinner)

If you dont understand ill see if i can make it a little more clearer (gets some more pics)...

listen, MIP maps are what do that. Trust me. Instead of sitting here waiting for someone to post an answer, use the correct answer I already gave you. Open your skin, save it, and make sure "Generate MIP maps" is on. Or quit. I told you an answer, if your not gonna at least try it, then I really dont care enough to help. If you do try it and it doesnt work, then post back and I'll help. But I know it will work, i've seen the SAME exact problem, and MIP maps fixed it, which also proves you didnt do any research.

when im far away from something, say a wall texture, like in the pic.. Its completely black in that middle area
When your farther away, it uses the less detailed skin. You only edited the best skin, which is why your shows when your close

Wait i think im on to something.. In HMT i open up Bloodgluch
SO i save the warthog skin, edit it, and re inject into HMT. Now which file should it edit?
Like Ex: bitmaps file, bloodgulch file???

If when your saving GIMP doesnt have a MIP maps option, then here's your new tutorial:

Download Paint.net

Open your edited warthog skin in paint.net, You dont need DXTBMP or any plugins, the program's able to open it.

Save as a .dds

On the saving screen, it will give you detail options for saving it, like how high quality, stuff like that. on that screen, find the box that says generate MIP maps, click it, then save.

You wont have anymore problems. GIMP sucks anyway, I always hated that program, there's too many windows and It feels way too un-user-friendly.
