okay um im new to halo and this site so i went around looking at the different stuff people created: mods, skins for guns and banshees and etc...and i was wondering if there was anyone or people on this site that have done those before if they could help me and give me help on how to make my own and stuff because i really want to

Hey man, you can start off by duplicating your Halo (or trial) 'maps' folder. This insures that incase anything goes screwy in the modding process you can always have a working backup to fill in the error/missing texture/whatever.
First get HMT3.5:

Install it then download these plugins (they give you more stuff to play around with).

When your done installing them, select every plugin file and extract them to your HMT.v3.5\plugins folder. Overwrite every file.
Now you can open up HMT3.5 and press File>Open and select your .map file. The way HMT3.5 works is, every map (.map file) has its own set of options. So if you want to modify how fast the assault rifle shoots and hopefully its accuracy, you have to go to File>Open>bloodgulch.map
Then edit it. If you go on bloodgulch.map your assault rifle will shoot a lot faster and with more accuracy (but if you enter a different map like beavercreak.map then the assault rifle will stay the same). ALSO, if you make a mod like shooting warthogs out of your gun in bloodgulch, if you enter a online server and you start shooting with the AR, you will see warthogs coming out of your gun on your screen but really, everyone else will see you just shooting bullets and you won't be able to climb into your 'warthogs'. So yea, play around with the options, if you get a lethal/exception error just reload your map from your backups and just have fun! You can find other tutorials and things to do around in the forums.
