jk, but this topic had less views than several younger topics. Anyway, i did a conversion of the start bsp from keyes, and everything was working just fine. however, i opened up the map in sparkedit, and everything is just crapped up. I can see the new bsp in there, but there's crazy corrupt junk everywhere. under the models tag, everything is empty. i tried re-rebuilding several times without any luck, and even redid the conversion from the decrapping stage. if you know what the problem might be, can you tell me how to fix it? I don't care if it requires redoing it from a certain point, or hexediting, etc. I just want to know how to fix/avoid this in the future.

ok i get this problem...I think the decrapper has some crappy problems when it comes to certain BSP's

hate to double post, but wtf, i just started a whole new conversion on a10a, and wound up with the exaxt same result.

someone please give any sort of suggestion!

is it crappy in the building??? if not just say there is uber lag from outside...because screwed up maps give you lag...or me anyway...there is an option in sparkedit under file to extract the map as a .obj file...maybe you could fix the vertices but im not sure if you can import the .obj file back.

if you could put objs back in game as bsp, you could make new maps for pc.
yes, the crap is inside, the crap is everywhere. it moves when you move around in sparkedit and it twitches. that said, there is no way i can find the original spawnpoints when my vision is impaired by crap. I have converted 2 bsps and haven't even gotten to walk around in them yet! you have no idea how much this will help me.

I will give so many kudos to whoever tells me where i went wrong. i don't care i f have to start from scratch, just tell me where im messing up.

well try downloading HMT again just for the tutorial and follow that tutorial (if you havnt already.)

yeah i also got a few junk in my conversion too but it was only in a few areas.

i rebuilt that and it worked fine .... a few times all of my weapons were crapped up..

could be two things:

a) you forgot to move your new carousel.sbsp.meta to your build\levels\test\carousel folder

or

b) if you added a biped you would also have to decrap the bipeds weapon. so if you added an elite decrap his plasma rifle or if you did a marine decrap his assault rifle

you could try it in game first and if the map won't load and you get exception or it will load but it has messed up bsp than you might have something wrong with hmt or did something wrong.

if it works fine in game than your sparkedit is f|_|cked up.

good to hear from people, the help is always appreciated, but the only thing I pmi-ed was a10 giant door, and I am 9000% sure I replaced carousel.sbsp (i redid this decrap + rebuild like 10 times). It doesn't work in game because I'm yet to find the spawnpoints. If there's a specific step where this problem may be ocurring I could redo it. Thanks.
