Modding for Performance or an Advantage

I understand that many of you will not find using mods this way to be legit, but read on:

Are there any specific mods to gain an advantage or to improve performance?

For advantages I know about the third person view mod, even though it has to be dialed in before shooting is accurate, as well as skinning to make other players very visible with bright colors, etc. There's also swapping out particle projectiles to alert you whenever a certain weapon is being used with a large explosion or cue invisible to all non-modded players.

I think that you could also mod for a challenge to build your skills up, such as making players invisible without the power up to hone your spotting skills for Snipers.

My final idea is using some mods to customize or modify the game to make it fine-tuned to YOU specifically, like adding -use11 to the command line for a slow machine, or changing reticles for better accuracy, or even just using the console to adjust mouse sensitivity above normal for someone with good coordination.

For the last two ideas, I have no issue with using them, but the first I disagree with as it is an unfair advantage. This is what gave Halo 2 modders a bad name.

The idea behind this is to introduce everyone to it, and have them produce some links to mods or pages that may help customize HPC or CE to your liking and make the experience more enjoyable or maybe make a new challenge.

I in no way support using mods to cheat or gain an unfair advantage. The console is as far as I will go, except in the case of giving myself a challenge such as invisible players. Sounds fun or frustrating, I have not tried it yet.

Please post links or give me your thoughts. No flames, please.

Some ideas for a challenge would be nice, if you would.

Thanks,
Rannoch

*EDIT* I added a poll option that didn't show the first time around. Added thank you.

good point, all, but i have to say i disagree with some of them. i think that modifying your reticle and stuff is fine, but anything that directly affects the aspects of gameplay (like skins, even if they make it harder for you) should be made known by calling you server a mod server. And if you are JOINING a game with mods to make it harder, you will do nothing but bring down your team.
