Custom Music in Halo

Alright, Goldwave would be pretty good for editing the music clips with the correct codec right? What is the difference between the Track Information and the Chunk Information? The Chunk seems to be made up of parts of the song, if I were to inject a new song would I need to go and split up that song so it would fit each chunk and also inject the whole song into the Track Information part?
