Eva and Halo

For those who have seen the anime Evangelion, I noticed the other day that elites look a lot like eva 01. A crazy coincidence or inspiration?

I swear, if Bungie is trying to add symbolism to their game by making an Evangelion ripoff, I'm gonna go shotgun-totin' on their asses.

And brand a Tree of Life on their faces.
