What is a engineer?

I was messing around with Hmt and i saw a biped called characters\engineer\engineer so i swaped it with a grunt and started playing at first they were under the ground and i had to use a grenade or shoot them to get them up and they were something i had never seen befor when it first poped up i shot at it alot and it just didnt die it did't move and it did't shoot it just sat there would someone explain what they do in the game and why thay were made. Well the engineer is the covenant that fixes everything, but bungie decided not to put them in the game but they kept the biped and atcr and everything in there just hidden, not in the game

This belongs in Halo Disscussion it is not relevent to HaloPc Modding. From what i can see it looks like the Character they were talking about on the halo 2 dvd. It goes around gathering technology for the covenant.

Yea i suppose its like the gravity gun a design that has not been finished and never added to the game.
