Question Tag and Meta change

OK ,I have got almost every thing else to work, but this,with HMT v3. I may be blind and not reading the tutorial right,but I think I am. I want to change a tree or scenery item in Battle Creek to a ghost,or a rocket to a ghost in B Gulch. I have the map open and change the tags,from scen\obje\yyyy to vehi\unit\obje ,and save. Then I swap meta, save. But it will not work. Now I have read every post I can find,can some one open my eyes. :shock: I also have a dinosaur of a computer ,450 mhz Pentium and Win98SE,could this be a problem? I will elaborate if need be, but right now I don't know what to say. I may be a noob to this forum but have hacked the Xbox to Bits, from the day I bought it in 2002, I have tried every mod I can find and got most to work great. I have a great lighted X mod made from 3/8 lexan and 2 blue leds on top of my box. :idea: Thanks Guys for the great work.

It should be working out fine... I was having the same problem a little while ago... But I don't think you should be swapping meta... You could have to terms mixed up... You're doing everything right until you get to the swapping meta part (i THINK)... Hit the swap button on your Tag Information list and find a vehicle you want to replace... Then click on it, and hit save, you should check to see if you're uploading the right cache too... I did that alot and made myself look like an ass...

Also just so I could post this somewhere... Here is a new mod that me and The Swamp Fox on X-S have put together:

It is a mod that had some xbox map rebuilding to it... We took the model of the Covenant dropship turret for a vehicle... Here are all of the changes posted by Bert:

Wow thanks for the quick reply I will try this different angle/info, when I get home in a few hours. I Do have the right cache file. AND that is why you are great, no noob bash Thanks. AND this FlyBall is for BGulch map xbox? :lol: Thank YOU

Well I just am going to have to wait for a new computer in 6 months or so, and that sucks!! I have tried this many ways and looked at every post I could find and it will not work!! Now my computer locks in a loop or something when I change the tags! That part worked before and now it don't ,DAM IT. I have an old DeskPro 450mhz Pentium II OR III with 128mb ram and Win 98SE ,it just might be running out of ram,because I think it is swapping to the hard drive space for room, :cry: DAM IT. Or I have some program that has changed a dll or something.Or I'M blind yet. It will let me extract textures and swap most things,and duplicate with the scenero plug in ,so I can do some things with it. DAM IT. Reinstalled net frame and HMT ,but made no difference DAM IT. I will have XP PRO when I get the new comp., and more ram.Thanks for the advice Allister. HEY that FLYBALL is kinda kool and I will stick it it some games on game night THANKS :wink:

I had the same problem trying to make a tree into a Flame thrower in blood gulch. I had to swap meta using the drop downlist in hmt3 like Allister said. I swapped meta with the AR instead of changing the tags for some radom scenery and then swapping.
And it worked fine. If you do figure out how to do this with scenery though post a reply
