I have ripped my copy of halo to my Xbox hard drive in order to make some compressed maps, because loading up the cache files everytime is a pain in the ass.
I have tried several version of HME and not once has my newly compressed file succesfully worked on the xbox. (Dirty Disk Error)
halomapexpander -o bloodgulchnew.map -c cache003.map
That's correct right?
Will this program do what I want or am I mistaken as to its goal?

EDIT
Solved my own problem: Use the OTHER HME Halo Map Editor not Halo Map Expander, then make certain the file size is divisible by 2048, if not add filler 0's to make it so. Works like a charm.

Well they might be using the same source but they are different apps...
http://www.xbox-wired.com/downloads.html That is the one I eventually used, it is not WinHME or the command prompt tool.
My command line syntax was right.
My problem was that the maps that were outputed were not correctly padded.
