Visible Enemies on XBConnect

Post by bigfreak »

A couple years back I used to play Quake3 constantly. The folks that got really good used every tweakable aspect of the games configuration to their advantage. One of the things I really miss in Halo on XBC is being able to change the apperance of enemy models. It really really helps if you can SEE who you're fighting.

I was curious is it possible to mod Halo so that you can see enemies easily (skins??) and still be able to play other folks on XBC that don't have the same mod.

If it's not possible than I'm not missing anything. If it is, then the folks that are real good at Halo already know this information and probably have the advantage over me every time I play them.

Thanks in advance.

Obviously the game has a red skin for the red team and a blue skin for the blue team. What if you replaces the red skin with bright green and the bluw skin with a bright orange? When you go to play on XBC, will it mess up when the other player doesn't have the same modded files?

The red and blue team colors are hardcoded into the game. There is a second bitmap of the MC called cyborg_multiplayer.dds which highlights which sections of his body are colored red or blue. You can change what parts of the players are highlighted, but not the colors themselves.

Second, you can change bitmaps and still play online. The data that is sent over the network is projectiles, player locations and movements, vehicle movement, etc. You can change the bitmaps without freezing the game up.

But changing the players colors so you can see them better is cheap. So is glass walls. If you want to have an advantage like that then you are a piece of crap and you shouldn't be playing online.

I'm not interested in glass walls and wallhacks. I just wanna see my enemy easier when they are being cheap, hiding the the shadows and stuff.
