I am currently working on a fake operating system built off of "Windows XP Gold Cobra SP3". I have this so far.

Image

The desktop itself has the best look in my opinion. it was made with the following.

Desktop Theme) TribalT: A desktop theme included with "Crystal XP 2007"
MSN) The most recent version of msn messenger - 9.0
Desktop Wallpaper) Found googling pictures of the world ending in an explosion.
Icons) RocketDock: A program included in "Gold Cobra SP3"
Sidebar) Windows Sidebar: Program included in "Gold Cobra SP3"

Here are other examples of what I have.

I even got iGoogle going along with this!

I can not take credit for anything exept the logon and boot.

I want to learn how to manualy edit the logon and boot and Windows Media Player's wmploc.dll, so if you could tell me how, that would be great, cuz I'm using programs to do it for me, and I just want it to be there, not being made with the "Bootskin" and "Logon Studio". I'm also looking for people who are willing to help me make "Galaxy XP" off of this, but if that's illegal, then I want to just make a patch, or individual releases. If you want to help, please contact me.

So where can I buy this "Windows XP Gold Cobra SP3"? You don't know what an operating system is, do you?
Theme is god-awful ugly. Actually, everything about this is ugly.

Also, enjoy your rootkit.

That's why I want people to help me get this to look better...

WTF is a rootkit???

And for shits and giggles, read up on this too:
http://www.google.com/search?q=operating+system

You're making (And I use that term loosely, you're really modifying) a theme, not an operating system.

Yes, but when I finish making the *cough* theme, I want to modify all the system files.

and the rootkit thing? I never opened the link you gave me. I don't open links given to me by douche bags. [Not you, Tural. You stopped being a douch when you gave up your staff rights.(Not that I don't like the staff, I just hate superiors)]

Watch it.

Everything about this, except the loading screen (progress bar one), is ugly.

That doesn't make sense. Did you open the link or not? <_>

:? You realy couldn't figure that out?
xbox wrote:(I have no clue what he said. I wasn't realy paying attention. :| I think he said "For Matt!". I hope this Matt fellow gets what you want with him. )
why would I want to format? I got everything backed up, in case something goes wrong. Still, I can appreciate it if you pm me for what is available, but you MUST have XP for this to work. If you overwrite the System32/ntoskrnl.exe with the wrong version, your computer will crash on startup.

... I dunno.

On-topic, the components (buttons, tabs, etc.) are disgusting. I mean wow, nasty. Can they at least look glossy, rather than like a corrupted bitmap?

How old are you?
Grow up.

Also this.

Why are you doing this? A machine capable of running Vista is not expensive. Just spend the money and upgrade instead of pretending to have something that you don't.

Christ.
Then you're still running XP.
This doesn't even belong in this damn board, because you aren't programming anything, it doesn't appear you even have the slightest clue how to, either. I'd be impressed with someone who doesn't understand the difference between visual appearance and the operating system itself who could make their own operating system.
It is XP. It always will be XP. It is not a fake OS. It is not a new OS at all. You're just modifying XP. You were wrong, the end.

I'm reporting this post, because regardless of you covering your ass, you're still flaming. Good fucking game dude, be as ignorant as possible and harass other people about it. You're going places. Just stop posting if that's how you're going to act.

1. If the link is posted by a douche, I don't open it.
2. Tural posted a link.
3. I'm not opening it because the person who posted it is a douche.
4. Tural is not a douche.

Yeah, real fantastic logic there. Just stop posting, seriously. Every post you make makes you look like more of a babbling, ignorant child, although I'm surprised you overcame the first instance of nonsensical, ignorant comments with this one. You took it to a new level of illogical, unreasonable, dumb claims.

This entire thread is dumb, really.

fine, then screw this. If you don't even want to help make it better, rather than just telling me it sucks, fine.

Besides, I download the "Windows 7 transformation pack" (Please don't tell me that things arn't expesive. Dammit, My family is on a REALY tight budget. I've already been informed that they owe almost a million dollars, I have no idea to whom, but they're barely even paying the bills. Just because you guys are spoild rich, doesn't mean everyone else in the whole god forsaken world is!)

The only issue is, I need a boot that looks like windows 7, so if you can please send me a link that isn't a virus, I'll be greatful, and leave you all alone.

Stop downloading stuff like this and risking your computer if you cannot afford to rectify it.

I know what I'm doing. I'm not stupid. Besides, I still have have everything backed up, and my old XP CD to reinstall it. Besides, what do you care, you guys - according to GIR - tried to send me a virus, which reminds me, nvm. If you have many people like GIR sending me viruses, I don't want to download anything here again.

Also, I called GIR a douch because he said "Enjoy your rootkit", as in, he sent me a virus in that link, and Tural defined Rootkit as a virus/hack attack. I wasn't insulting you guys for no reason...

GIR said that this "Windows XP Gold Cobra SP3" is a rootkit, the link he posted was to a google search on "Windows XP Gold Cobra SP3."
He did not send you a rootkit, nor could he have by supplying you with a google search on "Windows XP Gold Cobra SP3."

Yeah xbox just back off, for some people it is too expensive and they still want to customize their computer. Don't be looking to say that he shouldn't be doing it either now just to be argumentative like you are, it's just lame.

I told him the safest route, I did not tell him to stop.
No argument is needed.

Then just let this go man. I'm making my PC look like vista instead. I already lost my logonui.exe and ntoskrnl.exe that came with the operating system, but that doesn't matter. I'm a hacker. (I hack personal files, not other computers. I don't want to go there, it leaves me with more friends.) I probly could find it on the cd again.

And the rootkit thing, I haven't got any viruses. I have an advanced antivirus. ESET NOD32. It actualy scans my files before I even finish downloading them! :D And my PC is working great now. Got a new video card. (Off some old PC my dad has at work - only 52 megs I think, but it'll do for now) And the lownload thing stopped for some reason. :? MB cuz I got Linkseys SpeedBoost.

And GIR, sorry I called you a douch. I never opened the link, and only assumed you were sending me a virus.
