Hey guys,
I'm a 3d artist, and I use Maya 5. Yet I noticed that all of these are for 3dsmx or gmax. Would you reccomend using gmax over using maya?

For halo i would say so just because there has yet to be a maya plugin, but if you are just talking about for 3d in general then no if you are talking about that then ur not much of a 3d artist

but for halo yeah go with gmax for awhile and when you feel comfortable use the 3d max trial so its not wasted when ur learning.

Lol,
I am a 3d artist

I've used 3dsmax, which is highly simalar to maya.
But I see all the applications that allow conversion from 3ds files to halo files. I just wondering, would it be worth the stress to work with maya.
I'm just going to use 3dsm6, sounds like a plan

I don't know what platform you guys are talking about, but I'm using Halo Map Tools 3.5 and exporting to .OBJ, then Importing that into Maya 6. This is what I'm using for XBOX.

Lol... you model them, then send them to peopl who can export as .jms that have max and the plugin. Practical solution.

grinch have a look at "Deep Exploration". It's a very handy program that will / should import your maya files and export to .max or 3ds files with out a problem. I use ligthwave 7 to model and that's the only way I can get things to work out.
