highlight and smooth

im trying to make a custom gun and when i right click and try to select highlight and smooth, that option is not there. im using 3ds max 6.
and then just select smooth + hilights:

You could try using f3 and f4 to set up your viewports to view it, it should be probably pressing f3. If you dont wanna do that you can right click in the top right of each viewport window as shown in this picture:
and then just select smooth + hilights:

that site u posted (halomodshelp.org) is freakn awsome! i found like 6 answers to some answers that i probably would have asked in the future. like weather in multiplayer for example.
