(WIP): Penitentiary

well i havent seen much going on in this forum so i guess ill just show everyone what im working on. its a prison type map, and its pretty simple. its going to be a close combat map, and will hopefully be complex in the way to get to the other base. as in, theres more than 1 way. so far i have the 2 bases set up, a hall to connect them, and a glass wall to make sure you cant get there. (theres going to be a cafeteria and a control room that u have to go through).
this is the basic layout of a base. 2 floors of 10 cells each and a ladder connecting them (its below me in the pic) and a hall to get out.
i have been working on putting some inmates in the cells.

all they do is walk around and try to run out. they dont shoot and im trying to make it so that they dont gave guns. oh yea and they dont respawn. oh yea and also in some cells theres a dead mc and sometimes 1 that looks like its sleeping on the bed thing.
soo... tell me what u think! but remember its like 50% done... maybe... and its a beta..

that looks really good and like the idea of mcs in cells.needs work on the textures though plus make a little dark you know give it teh scary prison feeling

The cells looks good, but could use a little better texturing (ex. maybe add some fallen bricks or something, prisons aren't kept clean like your bathrooms

). Anyway, good job so far. If you need a beta tester, I'm your man.

yea make like mold on the lower part of the walls to make it look like a musky place, i think that would be cool.
and how do the cells work. can you open them, or is there a passage to get to them, i think you should make secret passages to a hidden area, i know its early to start think about that but that would be really cool.

hey thnx. the cells dont open, but im gonna have 1 or 2 that are open already or the gate is broken or something. and i had this 1 idea... in a closed cell in the enemies base, theres a powerful weapon. they cant get to it, and the only way is a secret passage that enters into the back of the cell. that way u have to get it quickly b4 any1 sees u. and seince theres the gate, they cant chase u.
but anyways... i dont think ill have fallen bricks... cuz the walls are metal.. but ill prolly try to put some mold and such.

Note that someone can simply chuck a grenade through the cell door. So I suggest you make it so it is nice and hard to get to so there won't be one person dominating the level. (i.e. a fuel rod gun or RL).

yea hes right about that make the bars real clost together but thin or somthing so u can still se thru to the other side so no nades and stuff can be thrown in there

OH, and for the secret passage way, do what they did in Complex. They showed a wall, but you were able to walk through it.

if you could make some dark hallways with broken and flickering lights...along with rust stains and water marks everywhere...it could look like an old prison

That's very good. You should make a map similar to Alcatraz (it's an island prison in San Fransisco) that would be pretty cool.

Make it like Alkatraz.Its a high security prison on an island.The original Alcatraz had sharp shooters on the roof,so people running for the water to escape would be shot.Put some Ai bots ontop of the map,shooting people trying to escape.
