open edges, why are they ALWAYS around?

open edges, why are they ALWAYS around?

ok, well...Yeah. just like the ?estion
ok, heres what i did. i created my refrence frame, my skybox. i did a stl check, no errors.

i created a simple plane. no hills, no edge-modifying, no nothing. i did an stl check-14 open edges. how do you get 14 open edges from a plane?

it has to be within a sealed model. like a box. and no open faces.

i had the same problem.... if its with an object you have created, follow kirk's tutorial where he connects the base......i recommend attatching all objects first then adjusting the terrain (hills, bumps, ditches, etc.)
