Wait, people are supposed to be able to walk around in the ship as it's being flown by other players?
I read the first few pages and last couple pages looking for any info, and I do believe that this won't work very well at all. While in the ship, wouldn't players die the second they touch a wall while it was moving, or just simply fall through the vehicle? I've been killed quite a few times while dodging hogs byt just being clipped by the turret, and if someone takes off in the Longsword in Hugeass while I'm not in a seat, I fall though the floor.
Also, the players won't move with the ship, even if you put a ladder material on the ground. If someone is on a vehicle and it moves, the player will stay in place. Halo 2's physics were re-vamped to allow people to stand on top of a vehicle while it was moving; ladder materials only allow a surface to be walked on no matter what angle it is.

Hmm, that's a good point. I've heard people claim they've walked inside a moving LS, but I doubt it.p0lar_bear wrote:Wait, people are supposed to be able to walk around in the ship as it's being flown by other players?

He could always tone down vehicle collision damage... although that wouldn't help the falling through floor problem.

Believe me, you won't fall through the floor. I've run tests, many tests. One is very simple. Get in a longsword with a friend on hugeass. Fly up high. Have your friend (who should be flying) stop. Now get out. YOu can walk around. Now have your friend move slowly, very slowly (The floors aren't sticky so you will go flying into the back if you go to fast) continue moving, preferably towards the front. It works fine, but the Draco will have sticky floors so that you don't go flying backwards!

Everything you'll ever need to know about me.

I did what I described once, and the longsword still moves while it's 'stopped'
You move, too. Which disproves the whole "you don't move with the vehicles" theory. I switched seats. XD

Ever seen a game where the MC can walk on walls? (the equivelent of having every face in the game climamble) It worked then. I've done it. And Ive seen it without it like that on the hog.
The original plan didn't even involve walking inside the ship while it was in flight, it's just an added bonus if it works.
And stop pestering me about it, you know I can't defend myself with hard evidence because I don't have a working tag set. (if anyone happens to have the link to theghost's full set of the SP ones, that would be appreciated, I can get the others from my other pc)
And, please, don't post in this topic until I say otherwise, it's just going to be useless chatter if you do.

http://www.halo-universe.com/sections.p ... DL&did=378
it should go faster than something like halomaps, so it won't take real long. there you go man.

Final Map Design has been posted here.
The UNSC Sagittarius. A rather small ship, but with its 2 Dracos it is a formidable foe, even for a Covenant outpost.
Keep the discussion here about the Draco itself, use the other thread for the Sagittarius and other map related stuff.
Other than that, should be trying out 3ds max 8 soon, so expect a finalized Draco soon. Not much left to do, and some of it I can do in Gmax. Just wish I had exported a .3ds, but instead I'm going to have to use the GBXModel and convert it.
That's all for now,
Bacon

The Draco is about 85-90% done. Not much left but custom textures, a few hallways, the physics file and the engines.

Everything you'll ever need to know about me.

A long awaited update:

The engines of the Draco have been added.
Just 2 more hallways and then she shall be done!
(except for the collision and custom textures)
Note:
Today begins my 30 day 3ds max 8 trial.

Hmm.. Well, update: (and sorry for the triple post, but seriously, it needed a bump for this one)
I have completed an early beta test map of the Draco (as scenery)
This map, which will be tweaked a bit (collision model needs work), contains a scenery version of the Draco that you can enter and look around in.
Current bugs:
- No stairs, didn't have them in my collision model, I'll add them before I upload the test map to the files forum.
- Vehicle version [must be manually spawned] has too low of a bounding radius.
- Vehicle version still doesn't work (physics, don't worry, I'm going to try and get help from Tiamat)
So, expect that soon, just need to get on my desktop so I can fix up that collision model and send it to my compiler (my HEK is so frakked up it would take too long to explain here) and have the finalized test map ready to upload.
Expect the Draco to be flyable soon!
Adios, Bacon
