Community Game Day


Hello, HaloMods Community!

Some of us started discussing a series of ongoing community gaming sessions a few weeks ago, but nothing ever really got off the ground. Having played Halo 3 with Ketchup_Bomb, SHOUTrvb, and warlord last night, I once again realized how much fun it is to play online with long-time friends. As a result, I'm starting up a HaloMods Community Game Day.

My goal for this is nothing special. I'm simply planning an event in which much of the community will hopefully participate.

I know that there's some aggravation among members due to the forum changes and new administration, and I'm hoping to cool that down a little. Let's just all get together and have a good time.



Without further ado, here it is:

Halo 3: Saturday, April 11, 2:00 PM EST
(Sorry it's a little early for those on the U.S. west coast, but it's already pretty late in England)
[Time Zone Converter] (use Boston or New York City as your initial location)



Obviously you'll need:

• -A Halo 3 disc
  -An Xbox LIVE account
  -An Xbox headset

If we can get a good turnout, we'll play some custom games (and perhaps matchmaking games) until the party dies down.

How it works:

Just post your gamertag along with any additional information for me to know. Make sure you state your gamertag clearly if, for example, it has both O's and zeros in it. Then I'll send out an Xbox LIVE message to everyone on the list a little before the party starts on the 11th. Open the message, go to my Gamer Card, and join the session in progress. Don't delete the message; you might need to rejoin if some problem arises.

Hmmm...Ketchup is having a LAN the same day. Maybe me, him, and JK will be able to get on at the same time, as we'll be there in person.

'khas, just found out from one of my friends bringing an Xbox that Friday would work best.
Sometime after school (which I get out of at 10:30am) to mid-afternoon is when it'll start and will go until people's fingers start bleeding.

Still, if you wanted to come up Saturday as well, that'd be fine. Parents are out from Thursday to late Saturday.
(I'll IM/PM you and JK my address/driving directions.)

If we get enough people coming, we should start a Halomods competition with teams and shiz, yo.

Friday actually works way better for me, as well...heh.
I'll have a copy of H3 for this whole weekend, then. And I have skill, I just tested it out yesterday. Still kicking the same amounts of ass. ;D

I like the team idea, though. 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 tournaments could be fun.

Cool. By the way, the Halomods logo is too big for the homepage. It stretches too far.

Thanks; I fixed it. I forgot it automatically posts to the homepage.

Make sure to post your gamertag if you're going to attend. I suppose you can send me a game message on Saturday and I can respond with an invite, but it would be easier to just make a list.

On that note, are any of the other map packs required?

Not the best time for me. 7:00am in the morning after a Saturday night out rules me out.
So we don't spam too much here (like, only participants can post here), can we get a discussion thread? Where we can suggest times (but keeping with the Saturday frame) or which game to play?

I don't really mind discussion of that sort taking place in this thread. Keep in mind, though, that only a few people have signed up so far. We need people for this to work out.

I wouldn't say the Mythic maps are required by any means, but certainly Heroic and hopefully Legendary.

The time zone issue is not really one that we can eliminate, although I suppose the times of these events can alternate (one event favoring EST and Europe, the next favoring PST and Australia).

Fortunately, I'm probably going to my friend's house for the easter weekend, so I should be able to come. Although I'll probably end up bringing along The Warrior 118. Also, I don't have a mic, Warrior's brother chewed it up. But I got it second hand from a very untrustworthy person. Barely worked to begin with. Anyways, I hope to be there.
