A new Halo game...

Okay, maybe i haven't gotten along with everyone on HaloMods but here is some rather new news i would like to share. About a game i have been working on for ages, called "Halo: The Fall of Reach". Based on the book of course. It is gonna be a top down shooter, and here are some very early screenshots from a couple of months back. (things are better now)
The screens will be on my site eventually too (
www.halo-tfor.vze.com)
Anyway, the full game will take a while, and may support online play, all programmed by me, some sprites by me, and other sprites by other people.

I just hope all these images posted properly....

Sorry about the double posting, but i just realised the quality is absolute ****. Sorry about that, it is the image hosting site i used.
Edit: Looks like the quality has gone to normal now!

Yep, as i say this is beta footage, it doesn't represent the quality of the full version. Textures should be smooth. Hmmmm...(thinks of robbing Halo's lovely grass) maybe i could hire a texture artist or something

.
Anyways, the first public beta should be a recreation of Truth and Reconcilliation from Halo of course. Like i said, it will be based on the book, but none of the beta versions will be. The AI engine will be tricky, but i think i will pull through. I hope you liked the screens as i put plenty of effort into the game so far. Online play isn't certain though.
It will be a bastard of a task to do!

Stay tuned for more screens!
PS. For some sample work download the SSDS beta demo from
www.badnikbandits.vze.com
The game was made by me, but i didn't make most of the graphics.
The full version of that game will be out in a while!

Hey wouldn't that game be kind of illegal because you are creating a new halo game and most likely without the company knowing YET. If so illegal don't spread it out mostly except this forum. One more thing if this is a new map sorry for this post.

wait.. how is that illegal? he just has to spell it like H.A.L.O and nobody would ever think its like halo.. lol, as long as he doesnt come out and violate copywrite laws, then hes fine

Correction:
If i sell the product it's illegal.
Am i going to sell it? Nope.
It is a total work of fan fiction, they can't do anything.
Besides, wouldn't it be cruel for them to sue a 15 year old guys family of all their money.

More screens coming soon....

no.. it is still illegal for u to use a product with their name.. as it MIGHT cause them to loose money (extrememly doubtful.. hey u never kno) and they also have the name of the game copywrited

They do I think.
Theres a little R in a circle by the name on the Halo PC manual. Which I think means registered, I don't know...

Who cares if it is illegal? We all have modded Xboxes and have modded Halo. (well, most of us have modded xboxes anyway) Would you call that legal??? See, if things are illegal, who cares? Please can people speak about the game rather than a few legal issues? I hope so.....

"Modding" isn't illegal, as long as you don't alter the code it self. (Changing stack piles, etc)
Though the company that makes DOA is sueing (did sue, never heard the verdict) some guys and distributers of a "Nude DOA Beach VolleyBall" mod. If they won, every "mod" would be come illegal.
And as this is a Microsoft owned game, I'd think they'd be pissed off if they found out you're taking *THEIR* idea and making something on your own.
Just for clarification, every FanFic ever written is illegal. Though tolerated at the present.
A company like MS can sue you simply for using their illectual property (the basis of Halo story lines). The author can sue you for using their story for the game and for the title of game. As well, you can be sued for using the same graphics (Such as the title) or textures.
Oh, and age doesn't stop conglomerates, monopolies, and assholes, from sueing you. RIAA sued a 12 year old girl for a crap load of money because she was actively trading music on Kazaa.
I'd becareful, the ground yo'ure walking on is "egg shells".

oh, i know that nobody here cares if its illegal, but i have to say please dont talk about modding xbox's and now we will stop with the "illegal" topic, and continue on improvements noted so far..
the ground definetly needs a new color.. and i think u should make the view at a more slanted angle.. but that would be quite hard.. so good luck

Illegal or legal, it has been my ambition to make a good videogame of my own, for a long time. I have already made games, just not as successful as this may be. If I "get sued", I "get sued". Do you know there is a huge community for Sonic fangames? None of them have been sued, therefore, i shouldn't be sued anyway.....
ps. anyone with links to Halo midis or anyone with art or spriting skills, please post.

that looks cool i wish i could do that
and BTW if any1s getting sued it would be Red vs. Blue (nothing against them) cause they do get money off of their merchandise and donations and their dvds which all completely have to do with Halo.

Thanks for the comment, i did put plenty of effort into the screens and the game of course! At the moment I have been putting emulators and Doom on my HD. Great fun! Also changing the instruments in midis is good.
Halo Action rock version...heh.
