Halo 2 For Windows Vista!

Post by VoYdE »

Halo 2, on Windows Vista. Halo 2, you may remember, is a "shoot them up" featuring the adventures of Master Chief and his wacky sidekick, Cortana. Well, Halo 2 you know about, but Vista, what the heck is that?

Windows Vista is the next generation Microsoft operating system that will by turns, be sweet, awesome, radical, and potentially translucent (in places). It will also add layers of new functionality, speed, media processing and so on. I have heard a rumor, in fact, that it will replicate a lot of the functionality of them new-fangled Media Center PCs so that you can stream HD and whatnot to your Xbox 360. If that's true, that would also be nice.

The game WILL be for Windows Vista, as in, not for Windows XP, so you have a while to get used to that and complain to me about what a jerk I am to Windows 3.1 users.

But back to Halo 2. We're working with another team at MS to make this not only happen, but happen in a super-sweet radical fashion. To that end, we're going to be helping with a lot of aspects, but don't worry, we are not doing the actual coding work

It should be for XP also. I don't know if I want to get Vista. Also, this only means we're going to get the same amount of clueless new people as we got when Halo 2 came out for XBox. :x

More, because the PC is easier to mod.
Violence is not the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes.

Chances are most of you are gonna have to get a new computer for windows. Vista is gonna have x64 bit processors as standard, and most computers today are 32 bit. Im lucky I have an AMD 64 that can run both 32 and 64... so either get a new processor or get a new computer. (x64 Intels are around >$200 and AMD 64's are the same.)

No. Unless I read that wrong, you're saying that Vista will make your computer 64 bit. It won't, it'll just support a 64 bit processor.

I've had a 64 bit dual processor for like 2 years now ;P

Anyway, this sucks.

here is the current info:

will only work on Windows Vista
will have the original Halo 2, the multiplayer map pack contents, and a multiplayer map maker/editor

info on vista includes:

directx 10
3d desktop and interface
new alt-tab interface
new search interface
new start menu interface

requirements for vista (at this time as stated in the article):
512 megs of ram
a current processor
(for the current beta) a directx 9.0c compatible video card

(...i just copied and pasted this from a thread at halomaps.org, this info was supposedly found at http://www.gamespot.com)
The Ultimate Halo Map Maker is Coming...
Whoever said Halo2 would never come to PC should be shot in the head!!
