First Floral-kinda Background

Post by SHOUTrvb »

Won't lie, I kinda ripped off the very top part from another style, but only because it fit the crosshatching the best. It's still all my drawing work.. which I'm not exactly super at, but I think it turned out nice. The blur is temporary until I apply it to a website that I'm creating for myself. Don't want anyone offsite tracing over it, so I'm making it difficult on them. Anyways, comments/crit?

Edit: Obviously "Shout" will not be in the background. The main image will be over a texture on a repeating background.

I didn't like the design in that avar, but it's really nice in black and white.

I don't think a blur will stop people from tracing it (for whatever reason that they would want to).

Looks very nice.

I wouldn't make it the centerpiece of a graphic, but in a sheet would be just fine. Although very ornate, it would make a great piece for a background with very subtle coloring. I had in mind setting the bit at a 45 degree angle in a grid pattern, and give it an offset color.

I didn't have any sort of angle in mind, but we're thinking along the same lines as for the rest. I may try turning a bit and seeing how that looks though. How I was considering putting it over a texture and applying some effects to give it a bit of a rustic look. Y/N?

If I could get the AI eps or psd that it's in, I could show you exactly what I mean. It's kinda difficult to describe without showing you.

SOUNDS LIKE A CHALLENGE!

I like it a lot, kind of reminds me of Heraldry, but not enough to be lame.

This looks like a smiley face to me, which I think takes away from the seriousness of the design.
