[HLWN] Cruentus Creek

Cruentus Creek -Latin for bloody creek. That is what this map is all about.


Well, I've been working on this since I herd about the Halloween contest. This is a mod for Beaver Creek. Everything is different, but here are the main changes:

The sky is black, and there is fog in the atmosphere. The trees are dead and leaf-less. There are no more plants. The ground is mud and blood. The lightmap makes the map darker and the walls and rocks are made of elephant skin. The creek flows red with the blood of those who have fallen and blood is on certain walls. The spartans have a new skin that makes them look like zomies. Elites too. Spartans also have thier flashlights on. All of the weapons have new projectiles and new effects and new skns. Every weapon and menu is renamed too. There are only a few shader swaps and weapons spawn in different locations. I almost forgot, frag grenades are skulls and plasma grenades are pumpkins. There is a lot of other stuff that is new too.

SMG=AMP gun(shoots out blue enery)
Magnum=Energy Sword=Blood Blade(blue flams discharge from it)
Rocket Launcher=Brute Shot=Skull Shot(shoots out shulls on fire)
Plasma Rifle=Life Crusher(shoots out red and orange energy)
Plasma Pistol=Life Taker(goo drips from it as it charges and you can kill smeone with it)
Shotgun=Skinner(shoots out a burts of 3 pumpkins the smash open o impact)
Overshield=Sentinal Beam=Decay Laser(shoots out needles, but in a real cool way)
Battle Rifle=Blood Rifle(shoots out red bullets that leave blue stains)
Sniper Rifle=Bone Rifle(new cotrail and more fire come out of the barrel)
Needler=Peeler(shoots out a projectile that is a cross between a SMG and a Brute Shot)

So, happy Halloween, and have fun with this. NOTE: The download comes with 3 ppfs, one for the main menu, one for beaver creek, and one for the shared map. The reason for this is because the main map and shared map have the weapon skins in them. Also, you need to clean your cache for the shared map. Also, you need to sign the maps (duh). Also this map is made to be played with the weapons on default. There is also a read me at the bottem.

Ya Korn, it is a pretty sweet mod. I wish I could have the experience and knowledge of some of you "pros". But what I would like to know, how did you make the sentinel beam look like that when fired? Did you change the attachment or the bullet dependences as well, because I would really like to know.

It is pretty sweet huh? I changed the projectiles to the needles from the needler. Then I made them come out of the gun faster. I then edited the damage that they inflect, so the weapon is balanced. I changed their contrail to the sniper contrail, and for the neat effects, i just mixed different stuff togather and tested it until it looked good. I'm still learning about effects, but just play around with them. Edit the prov and the prt3 things inside of the effects.
