A paging file is no substitute for RAM, please dont try and fool yourself, you will most probably see a performance decrease with this method..XTHIRST wrote:MAJOR TIP!
Ok, I have 1GB of ram.. say thats not working for me and I want 4 gigs of ram, but I don't wanna go and buy it. Well, heres my/your fix.
1st - Go to Start > Control Panel
2nd - Click on Performance and Maintenance > Adjust visual effects
3rd - Click the tab named "Advanced"
4th - At the bottom there should be a "Paragraph" named Virtual Memory.
5th- Hit the button named "Change" and make your settings look like this -

6th - Hit "Set" and then hit "ok" and then hit "ok" again.
7th- Restart your computer and you have 4 GB of ram!
