Star Track

Post by adolif »

Map Nickname: Star Track
File State: Already compressed, ready for ftp
Map It Replaces: RatRace

This is for all you Halo 1 fans who also are nintendo fans at the same time. (more specifically, Mario Kart fans)

Be aware this map has no nintendo characters, but instead has my mascot (as seen in my Halomods avatar) "Dumdog" as player 2 and 4, and player 1 and 3 play as a random halo 3 spartan.

Ok, here is a map for Halo Xbox which is meant to have a Mario Kart feeling to it and is loosely based of the Mario Kart DS track, Rainbow Road. It has two types of vehicles, the go-kart and the ghost-kart. Both vehicles have the same features and no weapons. The go-kart looks like what it sounds like, but the ghost-kart looks like a ghost.

This map has no weaponary, so you only die from falling.

NOTE: The map does NOT support the race gametype!!!! Play under slayer!!!!! I always thought actual people judging was better, and the race gametype wouldn't spawn the vehicles. =/ This map was also NOT designed for system link, so please don't try it until I
make a system link version.

Also be aware the go-karts float like ghosts, so it may seem weird, but it was done to prevent driving issues. (Mostly flipping and falling off the track)

There is Mario Kart DS Rainbow Road music in the map too, just thought I should mention.

Enjoy ;)

Time For Screenshots! (My capture card sux and makes bad screenshots, DON'T KILL ME!!!!)

I'll have to play that later. It looks like the kind of sexy waste of time that we've been missing around here. ;)

Well, it does look quite interesting. Which isn't such a bad thing. I like the creativity.

It is designed for the regular Xbe, I modded the map's header to decompress it as a SP map.

I got my xbox working again today and I tried this out, may I be first to say: ROFL. :D

Love the music especially, the skybox is also pretty.

Also good job on the custom biped, the animations seem spot on.

It's a pity the ghost has no boost or anything in halo 1, the karts need to go faster! My fav. parts of the track would be the top of the spiral, and the 180 corner before the finish. More tricky corners! Basically, if you make a v2, make it harder. ;)
