Halo 1 Timer Mod - Can anyone do this?

I was wondering if anyone can make an onscreen timer for Halo 1 xbox that starts counting up when the game starts. I think It would be a great addition for playing online on xbc for timing power ups and power weapons.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this? Or can anyone lead me in the right direction?
