Logitech Webcam on Ubuntu

Post by Yodel »

I just purchased a Logitech Quickcam for my Ubuntu machine; lo and behold it doesn't work in Skype. The webcam is detected, and it works to varying degrees on various applications, and is fully functional in Ekiga Softphone. When I use the webcam test in Skype I just get green and yellow static and flickering.

Can anyone help me get it functional?

Skype uses its own libraries for webcams (pretty sure it's like that on all OSes), so you may not have any luck. You should be asking this somewhere else, though.
