Folder Encyption

Post by Eaton »

Is there any program out there that can encrypt a folder with a password and require a user to enter it when you try to access the folder's contents?

You could use a compression program to encrypt the files, if speed is important you can use a compression level of store.

Eh, I guess that would work, but I don't really want to rar up all of the files because WinRar seems to extract all files in the archive before actually executing the one I chose.

Any other ideas?

You could extract the whole folder and use a file shredder to delete it after if the information is sensitive. It might be a little impractical, but it would work if nobody else comes up with anything. Hopefully somebody comes up with something better if that doesn't meet your needs though.
