[halo 2] Skinning the Spectre

Ok I know there's a way to do it. How can you properly skin a spectre? (or a ghost, phantom, wraith) What I mean is, how can you make it so that the annoying glow is gone? Like, I just made a spectre skin, but it still looks pinkish red a most angles. How can this be fixed? I know it can, I've seen it done before.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't modded Halo 2 in a looong time...but is there a Spectre multipurpose map? There may just be another part of the material being applied over your skin that is making it look weird. Maybe try nulling bitmaps related to the Spectre.
For example, you are skinning mat1, but the Spectre has a pattern overlay (mat2) overlayed over mat1. I guess.

Yea I think it does GTAF, I think Remember I had to paste what I did on the first bitmap, over the multi purpose.

Yeah but there's no Multipurpose map

. Does it have to do with the shaders at all?

Probably, thats all it could be if there are no multipurpose or cubemaps.

its a bitmap.
you have to skin it so it doesnt do that.
nulling wont fix the problem, it will make your skin worse.
meaning that that is used for the different reflection colors that you get
while glancing at a ghost/banshee/wrath/spectre

well when me and my friend were making a mod we skinned the
banshee and there was a glow and the reflection in some angles
had a purple-ish tint to it and so we kept on searching and we
found a bitmap and we just skinned it and there wasnt a glow
anymore after that.
