Hmm for file size vs. quality I like to use .AVI, but that's my preference.

avi aint no codec.

Yea .avi si just a format. However, i dont know much at all about codecs.

I personally like Divx.
Go download virtual dub. It has a whole bunch of codecs you can try out when you're compressing a video.
