BSP scenery, Chunks, 360 and more...

Hey guys, would be greatful for a little help.

1) When changing the lightmap, how can I get it to effect the BSP and normal Scenery, like i'm making a map slightly darker, it goes nice, then theres the BSP scenery which is real bright, looks ghey.

2) I just started modding Halo 2 on my 360, now obviously I can only mod the new maps, (tried changing scenario name of an old map to a new, failed) so I thought I could mod the old maps using BSP conversions, e.g. chucking them into Gemini, now all's good, but how can I restore the original weapon and bipd placements and stuff, and deathzones, so it's exactly like the old map, please don't say manually.

3) I wanna give the Covenant Carbine or Plasma Rifle a flashlight, however when cloning chunks using Entity it breaks several Idents, then giving me a Black screen. :(

2) can't you you just rename lockout.map into turf.map and then use something that doesn't break the rules to make it load? that'd work most likely..

Unfortunatley that does not work, it's problem 1 & 3 I am more desperate for, once I clone chunks in one weapon, I cannot clone any more after without it breaking a load of Idents, wtf?

1) You can do one of two things.

1. use the scenery editor to move them to under the map so you never see them

or

2. extract the scenery's bitmaps, put them in photoshop, darken the contrast, then reinject the bitmap.

1.) Darken the Bitmaps.
2.) What smactalker said should work.
3.) You probably have a bad plugin. :x

To move spawns and item collections and things. Just open the scnr tag and go to the chunk adder. Then in the chunk adder, click the item collection chunks and copy to clipboard then open the newer maps scnr tag, chunk cloner, then click the item collection reflexive and add to selected chunk/reflexive I think it's called on the right.

OK thanks a lot for the help guys, but I thought if BSP scenery was moved under the map it left black spots on the ground? Or am I thinking of something different?

Also, it must be a plugin problem, as Hawaain Modder managerd to clone more chunks in my map.

Now I'm just left with problem 2, I have tried renaming coag to turf and using something that doesnt break the rules (:wink:) but they fail to load, I really wanna mod the old maps on my X360 (Hi-Def modding pwns) so I think Im just gonna have to convert all the old maps BSP's into Gemini's but then I don't wanna manually move all the spawns death zones etc, is there any way I can do this that's not manually?

you could recursively add the SCNR tag from ascension > gemini or something like that.. be sure to null out SSCE in the scnr of acension or your map will become like huuuuuuuge.
then reference the injected SCNR tag in the MATG/MULG tag or somewhere around that.

1.) Yea, It will leave a black spot. Just darken the Bitmaps.
2.) Rename your map to Gemini.map, and make the signature B3BA50BE (By any means nessicary ;) )

k, thanks for the help guys, but I still cannot clone chunks in my map after i've already cloned some, it breaks some vehi idents for some unknown reason, Ive tried other weap plugins and stuff, but it's still screwed! :(
