[Modelling]Darkmatter input string wrong format

I recently just bought 3ds max 7 and made an awesome Xm8 model,
but when i tried to put it into darkmatter i get an input string is not correct format error, Ive tried using two different darkmatter versions so its not a poblem with darkmattter, and i tired using it in entity but the tutorial says to push a blue "+" button that isnt there. I'd be happy if someone could help me. Thanks.

What us in LostMods do is save it as a 3ds object, Then open MS3D and import the 3ds file, Then export a Obj from Milkshape. Do NOT edit the model. And then inject it into your map after doing the setup stuff. :)
