Adding Pictures?

ever since i figured out how to add maps manually, i've noticed the annoying of the white blank square, where the pic of the map should be. So i was wondering is there a way that i can add a custom pic, and get rid of the annoying white square? If so, can you give me instructions how to (or point me to a thread that does) and give me the name of tools that can be used to do this.

That happens because each image after 12 points to the same bitmap raw, Dwells55 made a patch that will fix that, that you can find at the top of the tutorial I linked you to.

Open a clean Mainmenu.map in SuperPPF. For the patch, select Dwells55's. Apply the patch, and wait for it to finish. Then use ADI or Dothalo or whatever you use to add new maps (and pictures) to the mainmenu.

Here, I made this tool for you, so that you can use your existing mainmenu...
Simply open your mainmenu.map in it, find the map slot your wanting an image at, right click on the image, hit "Add Bitmap Raw", then use the Inject feature to inject the DDS you want there.
EDIT: Hmm, I can't upload it here. Give me a minute and I will savefile it for ya..
EDIT2:
http://savefile.com/files/82313
EDIT3: If it's not a Bungie DDS, you'll have to inject it with another application. (Error on my part >.<)

thank you!!! this is possibly the most easiest thing to use i have ever seen!, no modification, no nothing, it just rules.
EDIT: Ok, didn't go to well, i culd add mi own pics, but the game says the disc is dirty or broken.......but there is no disc
EDIT2: I fixed it, i used DotHalo to get it in, and it didn't add it to all maps, like it did before......wut ever, thanks again! I'll just start another thread if i need more help, i'm cool like that

Ok, this is prefect, I'm glad I found this, one small problem though for me.
The maps I have downloaded I got by using Memeis and they have there on dds picture that are put in the mainmenu on the fly using the 1.1 update (they don't stay in the mainmenu). Now that I'm using the original 1.0 version of Halo 2, I have to add the maps manually, which is no problem thanks to this program, but my question is, where do I find the dds files for these maps. I know there is one, because they show up when I use the 1.1 update. Do they need to be extracted from the map, and if so, where do I find it in the map? What app would I use to accompish this, Ch2r?
So close, just need this last part and I can't start adding my maps.

I don't know if I shold take offence or just rephrase the question.
I'll go with rephrase...
I just need to know where I can find the original map pictures (the dds files that you inject into the mainmenu) for the maps that have been downloaded from Memesis or anywhere for that matter (I just happen to download mine from Memesis)? Currently I have everything setup in the mainmenu, but of course I'm looking at a white box where the scenic picture should be. Now I know there is a dds file for these since when I did have 1.1, they showed up beautifully in the Mainmenu, but now since I have reverted back to the original 1.0 (so I can use this wonderfully created Yelo), they do not load. So I am having to manually add them to the mainmenu, which is no problem. I would just like to know where the map pictures are located (are they in the maps themselves, in the Tdata folder somewhere) they have to be lurking somewhere, they magically show up when I load 1.1.
Thank You
If you still think it's pointless, then you try having a mainmenu with a bunch of blank white pictures.

It was pointless because you didn't ask a question in your last post. Ans, to get the image, simply open your map in Entity, and it should be the first picture to show on the right. Extract it, then inject it ito your mainmenu.

Thank you, that's what I needed to know.
Not to stir anything up, but I did ask a question in that post.

You don't put your question in a quote. It makes it hard to see. Quotes are used to cite something somebody has already said.
That's why nobody noticed your question.

I wasn't asking a question in a quote. I was quoting what I said in my previous post. He had said I didn't ask a question, so I presented him with proof, by quoting what was in my previous post.
Anyhow, I did what he suggested and it does show the picture when the map is open in Entity 1.3, but when I right click on the picture and click save bitmap, then choose where to save, it gives me the following error, "unhandled exception has occured, Object reference not set to an instance of an object." It gives the same for anthing I try to do with the picture, even if I try to inject another picture.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
EDIT: My bad you were referring to my original post within the quotes, I didn't even realize I had done that until just now. I didn't mean to put my question in the quotes, I thought I was at the end of his quote. I was wondering what the big deal was...

Yea, apparently that doesn't work. Sorry. You nee to find the [bitm] tag for it. It should be like mp_map_shot Gemini, or something like that in teh meta tree.
