Console Mode (Mac)

Could anyone tell me if it's at all possible to activate console mode in the Mac version of Halo? I've searched as hard as I can. I can't find an answer anywhere.

as far as i know console appears when you press the ~ key but i cant remember any commands
my username was land monster but it was disallowed :(
