problem with chatting....

hey all... i have some weird problem with chatting... i cant type anything and i cant see what anyone else is typing or when someone dies its supposed to tell you who died.... it doesent tell me..... i cant figure it out! someone help me please...

yeah like 2 times.... doesent help ,this happened to me before on my old windows... its a long story... on the windows (XP home) i had before i got the windows my "old" windows i had haloce on it... i saved all of my games and got windows XP pro (my old windows) and put them on there.. all my games worked fine and so did halo... a week later i couldnt type or see anyone else type anything so i didnt bother and just uninstalled it... and then i got windows XP pro X64 and i got haloce back and i still cant type or anything....

i had the same problem and what i did was i intalled the new directx and then i extracted the bitmap.map and pasted it manually after reinstalltion and then i could see everybody typing again but it may work cause it happend 2 my halo pc

because i already bought it before but i lost it so i not gonna buy it again and end up finding the other one i bought
and the reason why i downloaded halo pc is just to move a few files to halo CE

If you press the typing button (mine is "t") does Halo not allow you to type anything or exit the typing so you are just stuck there unless you quit?

grr another problem.....
i cant join servers through xfire... when i try it says " connection rejected, your client is older than the server"... how is that when im up to date.. i also tried older versions... didnt work
