I have a problem with Halo when I try to do multiplayer. I have a good internet connection, which I get from my dad's PC over a NetGear wireless network. Whenever I play Halo multiplayer, I get some lag here and there, and eventually my network just shuts down completely and the usual "Network Connection Lost" pops up. My dad's PC still gets internet and everything, but the connection between my PC and his is gone, so I have to go and unplug the router, and then plug it back in again for it to work. This happens every time I do multiplayer. Does anyone have any ideas for what I could do to fix it?

um... that IS really wierd. Do you know what the router's MTU is? you can find it in it's option thingies.

Woah, someone other than me uses an Wireless Network adapter!
This is what I always do: disable, then enable it again, through the Network Connections screen in Windows. But that just gives the same effect as the plugging... There is no forever effect :\

ok i have a wireless network card too and i recently found something out... 1st of all, hoe for away r u from ur dads comp? also how old is ur wirless card? well the thin gi found out is that my games lag cause of the wirelss card. wat it is is this. say u got a wireless card and ur right next to the hosting comp. itll say u got 54mb/second. not if ur all the way upstairs itll say u got 11mb/second. that 1/5 of wat u could get (56mb/s). wat im doin to counter this problem is im gonna get a direct modem connection. since my dads got dsl i have to get s special dsl box or somethin like that. it costs a lot, but ull never lose connection and ull get 5x faster connection.
hope that helps.

o man this is them most frustrating thing I have ever tries. For a while it worked but then it just did the 'Lost Network connection'. You know what I did? A lot of crap. I tried changing my MTU values (not much) and tried making the signal stronger (no way). I finally just gave up and took my cable connection into the basement along with my computer. I just don't think that wireless connections are good enough yet to hav games like that work for a long time.

I've tried multiplayer games over wireless and it never worked for me.
Maybe HALO was not designed for wireless. There is probably some sort of internet problme, if u play on interenet, or there is like some sort of IP or mac conflict, I dunno, you might have something wrong with ur routter, someone could have hacked it.. whatever I dunoo. it never worked for me, cable is way better. Thats why it was invented.

the reason there is a problem is becaues all the info is sent in little packets...

sometime those packets degrade and they conflict wih other peoples packets so you get a revirifacition requeset and that happens so much that the router gets bogged down and to protect other computers connecvtionsa it shutss urs down
