some other application keeping me from running halo

well, this happened recently and I've been trying to figure out what I did exactly but I can't seem to figure it out. Every time I try to run halo or any halo related application like sapien, I get an error that states

"Cannot allocate required memory. Some other application has loaded where Halo needs to be located."

could you tell me how to fix this problem please? I can't seem to find any application within the Halo folders that would cause this error and its keeping me from finishing a couple maps I want to get done with, thanks.

try to uninstall halo and then reinstall it and see if it works.

believe me, I've tried...it was the first thing that came to mind actually. any other suggestions? I honestly have no idea why this is happening.

I'm a sort of through person, but i would do a virus scan, spy-ware scan, and if needed do an upgrade and reinstall the OS(without wiping the HD).
