Directdraw error!?!?

I installed halo onto my grandpa's comp and it says it has a Directdraw error and says to run dxdiag


so, when i do, it says directdraw is unavailable?!

And i installed directx 9.0b but still no dice

He's using a Nvidia GeForce gfx card and it runs my other high end games. Is there a simple way to skip the DD check?
