okay... here's the Moonbase sky tags... if you have been to Wiki, one of the tutorials there tells you how to do this but here is the finished product of it when it's done right:

I think it might be a little bit more than miles away. If it was the Covenant would have found it right away.

Don't you guys see the name MOONbase? And if you look in the sky at night, you might see something called a moon, which is pretty close to Earf >.> Nice sky tag!

read the books. slipspace can travel faster than light. i belive it took about 40 minutes to make it from reach to halo. (or was it for the flag ship mc caught?)
