Tutorial Submissions Rules and Tips

Post by Tural »

Rules
Follow these or your tutorial will be removed.
  1. First and foremost, this is not a request board.
  2. Be descriptive. Include the platform (PC, Xbox, Mac, ect) and/or the game (Halo 1, Halo PC, Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 2 Vista, ect) in the subject or at the very top of your post.
  3. Refrain from using titles such as "Tut for noobs" or similar ones, it is discouraging to users and serves no purpose.
  4. No tutorials containing any type of cheating mods will be allowed.
  5. If you post a tutorial you didn't make, include the original authors name in the post. Stealing will not be tolerated.
  6. Check the board to make sure the tutorial hasn't already been made. If you have made improvements over a previous tutorial, feel free to post it.
  7. Keep the tutorials about Halo, this is Halomods, after all.
Tutorial Tips
Following these will help your tutorial be promoted to the Tutorials board, and will make it much easier for everyone.
  • Post the tutorial in the post, not as an attachment. This is not a requirement, but it is much better to do.
  • Include pictures. Pictures will help clarify your tutorial and are helpful in many ways. You can host your images on various free sites, such as Imageshack or Tinypic.
  • Be complete. Don't leave parts of the tutorial out and try to avoid being too vague. This also includes proper spelling and grammar, which are a great help and make the tutorial a lot clearer.
  • Include a patch of the finished mod. This can help people by allowing them to compare it to their results.
Other Information
Various bits of information which may be beneficial to you.
  • If you have an update to add to your tutorial, please PM a moderator or other staff member with a list of information to update. If this is the case, please be detailed about where in the post the new information should go.
  • If you have a request, don't post it here asking for a tutorial. If you want help with something, the best places to ask are in the Help Desk and Tech Questions and Problems boards.
