How to change the water level [No hex editing]

Post by StalkingGrunt911 »

KillingForFun made a .xml plugin but it didn't work with the older programs but since Entity is newer I tried to use it with Entity so here's a little tutorial on how to use the plugin and the outcome of it.

Anyone can do it :D

First open up the Entity Beta.rar file and the water package3.rar file (download at bottom)

Then find the sbsp.xml file in the water package3.rar and go to the plugins folder in entity beta.rar file then click halo 2 then xml now drag and drop the sbsp.xml plugin into the entity beta.rar plugin folder.

Now open up Entity and a map with water ( I chose Zanzibar)

Scroll down to the sbsp tag

Go to Tools then meta editor

Now scroll all the way down until you find Water Level for Zanzibar it's normally -3 but I changed it to 2 (10 is the highest Z cordinate for Zanzibar)
Image

Now just hit save at the top then sign the map and ftp and here is the outcome

Hell, my water just stays the same level, i've pulled over fresh original zanzibar's, and half the time it says something about the mainmenu and won't load, others it loads saves (i had mine at 3) but when i ftp it the water is still at the original height. no im not messing up on fixing encryptions or that sort, but maybe its something internal?
I can mod the maps and they work just fine, the water is my only problem.
