3ds Max: How To Make Water In 3ds Max (7)

ok, this is very simple but i dont know if people know it yet. I have 3ds max 7 so all I have to do is this. People with lower 3dsmaxz .....well i dont know. Its something with making a noise modifier on a plane thats been tessallated a couple times and animating it. But here is with 3ds max 7....


1...you can use this bitmap from b30 map named waves: or any other but I used it.

2...name the material (in this case waves) waves!$ and name the plane water!$

3...Apply the birmap like you woul anyother and you shuld get this: (dont mind the smiley.... :D

4....export and all that stuff and you should get soemthing like this: Image

ok, if you can see it theres a hole there. Dont know why its there and dont know how to get rid of it. Hope to find out. Hope this helps.

you might want to mention the shaders? Like transparent_chicago or whateva you used?

i didnt use any....i just made that plane name and it worked......i guess thats for fog or something cuz i dint use fog....and now im trying to find out waterfalls :?

lmfao it is a book. If you give a mouse a cookie, he will want a glass of milk. It means people will always want more....

The waves get mapped by the base map in the water shader, I believe. Check it out for more details.

There is a death island shader you can use i think
