When you have that material selected you have to click 'Show in viewport'. It's the checkered cube underneath all the textures.

OK My Bump maps opened up fine before I installed the nvidia thing. Now none open up fine. They are all crappy. I have the dds that is 690kb but it still is no good. And when I open up my dds files it askes if I want to convert it to 8bit 16bit 24bit or 32bit. I thought that it said something else.

And after I uninstaled the nvidia plugins throught add/remove programs it acted like it was still there.

I had to do system restore just to gain the ability to open dds files again. Any suggestions?

About editing envelopes, can someone be more specific.

I made the balloons bigger than the skin but when I animate it some parts stick in one spot.

I don't know which one to adjust, the bigger one (light red balloon) or the smaller one (red balloon).

Well My first try at rigging was not sucsesfull in anyway. I had same problems as you. I just redid it and took my time and it worked out then. An you want to edit the bigger ballons. I am still wondering does ANYONE know how to get the ingame kind of visor look? If anyone could post or pm me how to I would really apreciate it.

The ingame visor I think is just a enviornment map, not a realtime reflection. There is a map for the visor in the shared.map (or mainmenu.map, can't remember). I am going to make a MC soon, maby this week.

If you find out any info on that please post it.

I don't even know how to make something reflective in 3DSMAX yet.

1) Correct, it is a cube map, not a real time reflection.
2) The 6 images you need for the cubemap can NOT be extracted from Halo 2, you have to get them from Halo CE using Guerrilla, yes, they are the same as the ones in Halo 2
3) To have a reflection: In the reflect map, "Reflect/Refract" is a cubemap, "Raytrace" is real time reflections

It's alot more complicated, one major thing is that the cubemaps are not flipped correctly, you'll need to flip and rotate them in a specific way that I won't reveal, in order to have them look correct in 3ds.

Thanks I got it all working now it looks great! I am thinking on making a rendering site. I would have tutorials and pictures... and some homemade models for rendering...

i need help with the skeleton, im trying to rig a mastercheif
and the skeleton isnt tall enough, and the shoulders arnt broad enough. and i basically need all around help.

need help,
wenn I import the a model (masterchief,grunt, elite or some else model) into 3Ds Max 8, there is only the message Object import statistics, with number of identical points in face and things like this, when i click OK there is no model in 3ds Max8 , this happens with every model i want to import from halo

Check your ModeLib and try it again.

If all else fails, take some screenshots of each step you do, so I can see whats wrong.

All those pictures probably weren't needed :wink:

Open the select by name window (thing to the right of the cursor tool) and see if there is anything in there.
