Hello,

I'm new to this forum and would like to learn a lot from here. I have a big problem and I'm hoping you can help me. I would like to use the model from H2V but I don't got the game because I don't have Vista. But I really like to model the master chief and try out your tutorial. Is there a way to download the masterchief model from the game perhaps? I have downloaded everything they said on the first page.

This tutorial is showing you how to take models from the xbox version of halo 2. Currently I have not found any tutorials for taking models out of halo 2 vista.

Google a H2v to XP fix and as for the models, I bet you plan on extracting the models with the bones like i tried. The best you can do is do the halo 2 xbox version and rig it yourself ooor you can play halo 2 vista with a tool called 3d ripper DX so you can rip and isolate the model and rig it yourself and yes 3d ripper extracts textures to so good luck!

It will be much easier to rig the model if you rip it without using 3d ripper dx though.

The only way I know of is to use 3dripper though. No other method has been posted on here for halo 2 vista. I just want the character models so I can rig them.

I just want to point out something. This applies to 3ds Max 2008. When you import your model uncheck Obj Smooth. For some reason if you keep it checked it makes you imported models "blocky", "polygonal", and not smooth.

Ok, so im pretty new to 3d modeling and this is my first real project. I understand it all perfectly but my end product looks like this. Something seems really wrong, but i have tried to fix it on my own with no luck.

(the boots and gloves are my main focus)
While im here i would like to ask for a screenshot of where to get the falloff levels for the visor please.

You're not using the latest version of Entity for bitmap extraction, the bitmaps you're using are horrendous.

Does 1.6 require you to put the palette in C:\?

Hey Guys! I have a problem!
When I export the Master Chief from Halo 2, I dont get files called masterchief[#].obj, I get files called:
"masterchief.arms.base.#.obj"
"masterchief.body.base.#.obj"
"masterchief.helmet.base.#.obj" and
"masterchief.legs.base.#.obj".
So I imported all of those files in 3Ds Max, but nothing, really NOTHING happens. There are no files in 3Ds Max in the Object List.
What can I do to get the model?
I really need a good Master Chief model to animate it.
Please help me!

Make sure you're using the correct versions of all the programs, and try again.
