I played a Deathmatch 1v1 on that one map which is named after a guy who broke a Covie attack (which is actually made for 3v3). I made bases all on the southern side (where I started) while defending off covie attacks (commanded by the Arbiter). For most of the match I just pumped up my bases with turrets and locked-down souped-up anti-vehicles in some key areas within my side of the map. From here I went to take control of the impenetrable shield barriers, using Spartan Snipers for manning them along with a couple of tanks and anti-air vehicles along the main border. From here (I had enough bases at this time I believe for 65 units) I used the rest of my resources for making air units, namely Vultures with tons of hornet support. Reason being was the Covies like to raid you with fucking Scarab and Company. When they get to the shield barriers, they're halted while my anti-vehicles and tanks are taking some heavy shots at them, then my air fleet comes in and starts massive barraging the Scarab along with a payload of explosives being dropped on its head from a short-sword. The Scarab will take out a handfull of Hornets and one or two Vultures but this will give me time to build up my air support and maybe replace a few ground vehicles. Then I'll take about 5+ Vultures and countless Hornents and start attacking their bases one by one (then claiming them and getting an additional 10 units to use), and killing their Scarabs before they make it to the shield barriers. Rebuild some lost units and repeat until I've destroyed all their bases.

That match took me about 100 minutes to get a Victory with all the small battles and I think about 10 to 15 Scarab attacks, but it was very exciting (was my first shot at a Deathmatch too). I've been waiting for something like this since Star Craft.

I was just in a 2v2 on Crevice. I was playing as Captain Cutter. My teammate was playing as Professor Anders.
My Opponents were playing as Captain Cutter and Regret.

My base was on the SouthWest spot and I started by building 2 Supply Pads on my main base. Then took my Warthog further South and used my remaining resources to take an empty base site at that location.
That location in question actually has two empty base sites.

Slowly building more and more Supply pads as I go. I set a Reactor on both bases. Once I had 500 more resources and both bases are building something, I take the other base site in that location.

My teammate, who's obviously very confused, is looking at each of my bases trying to figure out how I have 3 Bases in the first 4 minutes of the game while he has a Gremlin and a 3 Supply Pads. He lags out 5 minutes later.

While he is looking around, I setup two Air Pads, a Field Armory, and the rest Supply Pads on the far back base. I set a global rally point back there as well and set my Air Pads and Field armory to work.

That 5 minutes comes and my teammate is gone, I have a fully upgraded MAC cannon and 15 Hornets whom I send to claim my teammates base as it's exploding.

After couple more minutes I have four bases, all of which have Heavy AA turrets. Each base has 4-7 Supply Pads and I have my 20 Hornet armada.

I send that armada to the Eastern Flood base which turns out to be occupied by my UNSC opponent. The Hornets take little effort to kill off his Elephant while my MAC cannon takes his base to near death. 20 Hornets will kill off almost anything in about 3 seconds at most. And the things that take longer are helped with a four burst MAC strike.

And with the 30,000 total resources I raked in by that time ensures all downed Hornets are replaced. And with the, total, 5 Air Pads, none of them have to wait in line.

I go from base to base, killing off the turrets, then the vehicles/infantry, then the base itself. This goes on for about 45 minutes. Eventually they start taking Anti-Air measures like Locusts, Missile Turrets, and small groups of aircraft.

I got up to a max of 5 bases. By that time, every base had a Reactor and at least 1 Air Pad so that if one base got destroyed, I could still produce an endless swarm.
Even though I received a total of (estimated)45,000 resources, I still went broke by the end.

They eventually get me back down to 2 bases before Xbox LIVE decided is a great time to disconnect me. (>_>)

The only reason I pushed them back so long was because I always had more than 15 Hornets attacking a single object at any given time while the downed Hornets are being replaced.

UNSC Captain Cutter:
Reactor
Supply Pad
Supply Pad

-Gather supplies, at the moment i have 350 supplies, so buy a elephant. Send the elephant to lock near the enemy base, and massive assault. usually at first 2 marine 2 flamethrower, and 1 spartan. 2nd wave is quite more vicious haha.

Bah, that doesn't count when you build an armada of that unit.

The units are also more effective when you have them all attack a single enemy unit at a time.

since i don't have broadband so no live all my stragites are for offline. but i find that to take down a scarab (since you know when the convent don't attack for a while that they are building one). Quite a few scorpions with canister shells are quite effective if you use a cryo bomb to freeze it then unload the canisters and finish it off with normal shells work quite well. Even though you lose about half the scorpions.

Well i just plated it about 7-9 hours and beat the whole game. my stratagy was allways to train as fast as i can and build up armies fast as possible. id send two warthogs agead just to see what kind of force id be facing, then id pullout and go in with a swarm and overwhelm each base. Accept on scarab, and that other timed map, this did not work. Attack early with small forces going different directions, then a swarm or tanks and the mak gun to finishes it off.

I would never do this.
I always max out my tech and gather an army over time, and then wipe out the enemy in one shot.

Thats usually what I do too, expect for when I'm battling brutes. I just spent 3 hours going back and forth with a 2v2 (AI). I was the Professor and my teammate was Forge. The enemy were both brutes and the map was the 3v3 ice map. My teammate lost about 10mins into the game...that usually happens when ANY of the enemy are the brutes from my experience. About 90mins into the game I got spammed with brute poo and Scarabs (I took out over 20 of those damn things in the entire game, got that 20k+ point achievement in the process) and basically lost my main bases and had to send my HAWK squads out to start claiming new ones on the other side of the map. Eventually, after about ten huge HAWK vs Scarab & Co. battles, I built a third fortress and made three Vultures and sent them out to take out the enemy bases while my HAWKs protected my bases. I <3 Vultures.

Three times in that game did I come close to resigning...

Hardcore:
2 Sheild generators
3 Warehouse
1 Factory
1 Air

Make 15 suicide grunts, send at rebel base. Take it over, make more suicide grunts. Take over all bases using this method. Once you have atleast 65 units availible 2 scarabs, 5 engineers, 11 suicide grunts, 3 locusts. Send in suicide grunts first, once all dead mass produce suicide grunts and send all their rally points to the base teleporters. Just keep repeating for all vehicles, then send in everything and just destroy the enemy. It's very easy, online and on legendary skirmish 1v1 on a 3v3 map.

I usually play as Sgt. Forge and take 2 or 3 bases in the beginning of the game. Then I start massing up supplies and reactors. I make about 6 tanks (which are then upgraded to grizzlies), about 5 wolverines, about 4 cobras, and a vulture or two. Then I just send everything I've got at the enemy and I can usually beat whatever they throw at me. Works just about every time.

Anyone worked out a good strategy for defeating Covenant rushers as UNSC? I can do the rush, not defeat it. The most efficient way I've used (yet can still fail hard) is when being the Girl, upgrade warthogs to gunners and spew those out and circle the leader (hold X to give future commands) while attempting to build turrets.

i have tried every strategy it doesn't help, i have tried starting out making turrets, i have started out with massive infantry which sometimes might postpone the attack but other than that never could completely stop it. you cant make scorpions in the time available which really sucks, so i really couldn't tell you how to Scotty.

Properly? Properly as in finding a method that gives you the upper hand in battle? No other statagy is more proper.

It sucks to get rushed so just spawn a few flame throwers/jackals in the beginning. You can use them to defend as well as take over a rebel/sentinel base.

Sgt. Forge = best.

I played a game and lost only seven units (and they were all minor units I sent out to collect supplies; marines/warthogs).

Grizzly = win.
