Mac Section Rules- Read.

Mods for Mac should be placed here. All posts must have pictures and a mod to download. Use PPF always, unless the map is rebuilt.

Mac Section Rules- Read.

Post by Kirk »

I've been seeing a quite a bit of people not following any of the Universal Halomods rules here. Just because we are slightly off from the PC modding world doesn't mean we are exempt from the rules.

1. This forum is for files, not help. If you want help with something, post it at HaloDev. Any topics not containing mods will now be deleted immediately, no more 24 hours until deletion anymore, now that this has been offically posted.

2. Barely anyone bothers to post pictures in the topics that actually do contain mods at all. Please, make sure you get pictures before posting the mod. Taking pictures is simple:

I'm assuming you are on a mac for this:
Hold down Cmd (Apple)- Shift and hit 3. (Cmd-shift-3)
You can also hit 4 instead, and you can drag and make a selection, and it will take a picture of just that.

You will still have 24 hours to post pictures of the mod, but it's much more simple to post it in your first post.

3. Of course, all Universal Halomods rules apply here as well, and are located here.

4. If your mod is not rebuilt, and you just swapped simple things, make a PPF file of the original .map

5. Read this and this. These rules still apply to this section.

6. No advertising your site in a topic. If you want people to join, put a link in your sig, but it must still conform to the sig rules.

7. Not necessarily a rule, but a good guideline. If someone posts a help thread, do NOT reply to it. Use the report button, which is the little exclamation mark button.

8. If a thread is starting to go off topic, don't post in it saying "I know this is offtopic, but..." That doesn't make you immune to rules, it won't help you look official. If you really want to help the person, use Private Messaging.

9. Converted Halo: Custom Edition maps are only allowed to be posted here if there is agreement that it should be, by way of polls that will be posted periodically at forums.halodev.org. This is to limit the amount of maps that will be posted here, and will in turn help the end user in finding a converted CE map game online. This isn't to say that you can't convert maps for private use...just don't post them here unless you've had a poll for it at HaloDev.

10. Do not cross-post topics in the PC and Mac section.

Once again: Do not post topics in here about general modding discussion, questions, personal events, etc here. All topics like these, I say again, will be deleted immediately. Post these at HaloDev

CE map rule added for clarification, in accordance with polls at HaloDev regarding the subject.

I'd like to add that just because CE maps can be played on Intel Macs (through parallels or Windows Boot) doesn't mean they can be posted here. It's still PC.

New rule, effective immediately.
All CE converted maps to PC or Mac must be posted by their original authors. Any topics with maps in them now have been removed, so please don't repost them. If you want to convert maps and talk with other people through PMs, AIM, whatever, to coordinate a game, that's fine, just don't post maps here. We would rather stay safe with CE map authors than to have unnecessary drama later.
