(last one has hardly any prevalence, mind the trees)
Was able to capture at five exposures for both of those images, then composited into a 24bit HDR image, then re-compressed down to 8bit for posting. Really captures some nice ranges.
Was able to make the shadows a bit less drastic by taking Nick's advice on updating the process.
I really enjoy the range it's able to give prevalence to.
For reference, here is the actual in game one-pass one-exposure screen shot.
The only time my final image ever enters Photoshop is to re-save it as a jpg. Otherwise it's dealt with as a 24bit .tif. I didn't do anything else... It wouldn't make any sense. I'd be trying to expand on data that doesn't exist.
i.e. brightening a shadow by turning black to grey. Ick. Just not sensible...

Yea when I heard of the idea I thought it would be way to hard, but after a single try I found it was really easy. Only thing is that I've taken over 3 different shots that I was literally 1-5 shots away from being complete but I ran out of space, so those are dead.
Here's my last shot, but it has some bending.
Now I have no idea why, but that shot bended.

(yes I know the tone-mapping is a bit exaggerated, sorry )
Another thing to scratch off the list.
But I've found a way to perfectly calculate and process Depth of Field, in engine. Through a few loopholes, an app is possible to automate the process.
Pictured above is manual application after the HDR process.
