Halo Photography

Post by theycallmechad »

This is a topic for your Halo Photography! I'm not talking about random screenshots with the ugly hud in the way, I'm talking about composed photography. Try to think of pictures that give the viewer a new angle on the game or pictures that would look great on a Halo cover or promotional poster.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of us (myself included) will rarely take pictures worthy of a poster, but that shouldn't stop us from trying.

For the poster: Try to not let the pictures get too big. If they are indeed larger than the pictures I have posted below, please make a thumbnail so as to not clutter up the board. Also, post with confidence. Not everybody will like every picture posted here, so take criticism for what it's worth.

For those who comment on pics: DO NOT FLAME! Halo photography is fairly new, and since the release of the picture taking trainer by xbox7887, people are tying things they've never done before (including myself). Many of these pictures are once-in-a-lifetime shot opportunities, so keep that in mind. Give CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, and that's all. Leave everything else to PMs. I don't want this topic filled up with Spam.

Anyway, enough of that. Here's my first entries, with more to come soon:

From what I can tell, ALL of those pictures are just from cinematics. I would describe Halo photography as a combination of No-HUD skins, the picture taker thingy, and glitches, to get in weird places and then take pics.

Shadowkhas is right if those pictures are from cinematics then anyone could take the exact same pictures. It's better to take pictures of actual game play, to make the picture yoursish.

While they may be during the cutscenes...they definitely aren't images you could capture without the trainer. Watch them and you'll see what I mean when you don't see the exact settings captured in some of the pics above.

Sweet looking halo picture! I thought about restricting it to halo 2, but I decided to leave it wide open for all halo games. There's a lot to be photographed in halo 1, and you can really turn some heads like your picture does.

Also, is anybody besides leop-shep having a hard time seeing my pictures? They show up just fine on my computer...

HOw exactly do you do those hi-res shots? Strafe and move the camera down? Like this (start at star, arrows indicate direction)?

*---------->v
v<------------
-------------->v
<---------------

And just snap 5 pics or so during each sweep and stitch them?
