It is lacking detail because there were no detail maps on it then. I decided to take what you said to heart and I'm going to make my own detail bumps at least. If I have time I might make my own textures for everything.

Before:http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g246/ ... test-1.jpg

After:http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g246/ ... iltest.jpg

Detail:http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g246/ ... altest.jpg

I only spent like 10 minutes on the detail so it still has some imperfections. It was photo sourced from the armor of an M1 Abrams tank. Tiling set to 10 and 5.

There was no major difference because I just slapped it on before going to eat. After kicking up the out put it is much more noticeable.

As far as it being plastic looking I disagree.

Please don't diffuse, It was leaked and the person who made it doesn't want people using it without permission. If you wish to seek permission he name is Trepdimeflou, But please don't post anymore renders with that diffuse.

I thought it was a Halo 2 Chief, because in my folders it said "h2mc".

I have no idea where or whom I got the Halo 3 Spartan from.

I only have the models textures for the Mark VI, no other armors.

Turns out it was not :V

So now I know the difference in the Halo 2 and 3 Chief Armor.

I think they are the same materials, can't remember.
My materials.

The RGB values are from halomods.

Don't flame >:V
Don't ask for the models are materials.
Don't hope for a map.

The only thing that are not mine are:
Models
Textures
Cubemaps
Bump Maps
Specular Map on Halo 2 Spartan

I made the specular for the Halo 1 and 3 Spartans.

The rubber on the Halo 3 and Halo 1 models is really dark.

Here is my rubber detail. I forgot to save the render I did with it and I'm to lazy to do so now. This is a low res version. If you want the hi res one let me know. This is photo sourced from the rubberized floor at a near by ice rink.

I figured that a thick rubber would probably be used in armor.

The metal doesn't really look like metal, it looks like plastic.

There definitely needs to be more reflections. There are barely any properties of metal. But the rubber does seem nice.

When I try to put more strength on the armor. But it just turns out fugly. Will work on it. I think it is just the lighting though. I will post soon.

Advancebo you need to work on your lighting. Just using default (from what it looks like) isn't going to give you very good results.
