As sunny said in the much longer version of this thread, you need to do more then change shaders, make alot of drastic changes to everything in the map, and it would be cool to see some slight gameplay modifications as well, don't just change one thing, and expect it to be gold (no matter how shiny it is). Just keep working at it.

its ok but then again shiny=LAG yeah 3/10

Uh, why would it lag. Every shader in geph already has a cubemap applied, all he did was swap them...
If your geph didn't lag before, it won't now.

i didn't swap them i gave it the material type glass then i changed around the tint color and brightness.

I can't see material effects in still screen captures, atleast not the ones shown. And brightening the cubemap is still just changing the cubemap, whether it be a swap or edit. And again with the realism. How can you call glass effects from metal realistic?

SORRY FOR POINTING OUT IT ISN'T PERFECT. I'll pretend it doesn't exist so the author continues to do it in future products, if people did that. Oh wait, they did. That's why he's here posting this right now...

people who have lower gfx cards like certian 128's like my laptops here, reacts badly to over shinyness it causes it to skip, jump and sometimes lag out. maybe u have a better gfx card than everyone else but what i really want is a 512 that stuff is amazing!!!

so thats just from my experience so what ever.

Just ignore the idiots , all communitys are like this , it cannot be perfect , you can either choose to be mature about it and let them figure it out themselfs , or you can type in caps to your hearts content , either way its just a game , you cannot make someone not release anything , if he wants to release shader swaps then he can its his choice.

Just drop it your beginning to bore me with your constant bitching at how everything apart from what you do is crap , your not above the Moderators so just let it slip.

Razor, Veegie did nothing wrong, someone just told him to stop when he pointed out his opinion. Not his fault people here can't take criticism.

But I agree, it doesn't look real at all, and I know what effect you're trying to emulate, it's used in Half Life 2 and probably some others, but that's the first that came to mind.

Of course hes allowed his opinion , but to me from looking at how he reacts to everything apart from his own work , i would say that his opinion is either irrelevant most of the time , or just general harsh critisism.

True everyone is allowed their own opinion but when they get so worked up about a game that they get almost every thread they post in locked , it sorta ruins everything does`nt it?

back on topic or jks said this would be deleted we dont want that do we.
like i said nice did you use hmt or hht for this a little bit of advice try doing it for all the maps and see what it turns out like it might work for the rest of the maps you never know

And a more consistant flow of quality-products does?

What quality? anyways , i think it looks nice as a effect , but its too easy to do , and over done in some places.

Did you increase the reflection brightness, etc? That shader modification is a very tough-to-handle job of getting perfect, even though it's simple. Many over-do it, or under-do it.
