All map images go in the images folder, all map infos in the info folder.

Then in Engineer's settings set the map folder to the folder with your maps. If this does not work your maps are most likely corrupted.
Uhm, probably corrupt. Should i get them off my Xbox agian?

I would. I get new copies of my Halo 2 maps off of my Xbox every few months just to make sure they are not corrupt.

Look in this thread: http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=76128
It has a tutorial to get the maps off of your disk.

are you going yo make a way in how to extract the bitmaps and models into a usable format? like the models as .obj so 3d's max 8 can take it, and the bitmaps in a format as .tif? just wondering if anybody is working on that, cause multiple people on halo ce (custom edition) take halo 2 stuff and put it on halo ce

yes but halo custom edition is ment to be for Custom content not ripped content from other games.
i doubt asset extraction will be released to the public for some time for the very reason of asset ripping.

Either that is just a model from the beta, or that is just a custom model.

It must be from the Beta. Unless he has made a breakthrough in decompressing the raw data from the Halo 3 maps.

It's the beta model.
Raw extraction from retail is not possible.

Moving on.

Christ, we just had this argument and I had to split posts.
For the record:
My post is referring to the past and present, as is indicated by him presenting a model which has already been extracted.

Ok, I realize this is like poking an exposed nerve (which i guess in some cases wouldn't technically hurt...), but how are things going (or not going) with model extraction, anyway? Is there any hope at all?

What are people using to develop this (Engineer)? How can I help (besides not bugging the crap out of the developers...)?

I'll let someone that knows answer your first question, but Engineer is being programmed in the programming language C#. You can download C# Express Edition of off the Microsoft website and create C3 programs with it. You can help by downloading the source of Engineer and adding more features to it, but Halo 3 is tricky to make applications for and it's not really, for the beginner programmer. But you are free to try.

I won't if you stop posting irrelevant, nonsensical comments like that.
