1. Installing the XDK, and having a hub with ethernet cords.
2. The sidecar, only useful for real game development, PIX has no use for modding, dvd emu may though.
3. Internal XBL used for developers.

Please don't ask about or mention partner net on public forums

Many things are only accessible on it. I'll leave it at that.
In regards to the sidecar, yes.

Not caring until I realized you can actually get banned from it and get easily traced

I have a question. Ok, I know a few people can mod Halo 3, but what do they do to play the maps? Do they burn the maps to a disk to play them, or is there another method... I have been thinking about this for a while and I would like a simple answer. Thank you! :D

The people who mod either use devkits or the usermap modding with Anthony resigning the maps.

I thought resigning the maps was completely impossible... It says that in the main post.

What do you mean by usermap modding?

Oh, ok. So tha tis the only way they do it? They don't modify the Halo 3 maps directly? Just the Forge files?

There's no Halo 3 map resigner, so forge map modding is what they do because Anthony made a CON resigner.

If you want to modify the actual maps, you'll first need a devkit, then get friendly with a couple of people around here.

Ah, ok. But all of the best modding takes place directly on the map files so modding forge files must be "limited."

It is. That's why the other way is so much funner (to see).

Lol. I did see the picture yesterday and that looks really funny. Ok, one more question, how did -DeTox- skin Valhalla? Was that a map mod or a forge mod? Or was it a Photoshop...

It was shader swapping, He swapped the grass shaders for snow shaders, and the water shaders to ice shaders i believe.

Pretty much nothing for the regular joe. There's only a handful of people who Anthony trusts and are close enough to him to let them make maps (forge maps) and resign them. But, as great as forge modding is, it is extremely limited because you can only swap things that are on the map.

Then there are those other handful of people here who have devkits and can do a lot more and as they progress, we will start seeing better and better things.

Haha, Photoshop...
